“We know how much Philadelphia Flower Show visitors enjoyed having Reading Terminal Market as their go-to for a bite to eat and place to shop in previous years so we wanted to figure out a way those traditions could stay alive despite the change in location. The PHS Flower Show is always a huge revenue driver for our 70+ small businesses so we knew we had to find a way to keep Flower Show visitors engaged with the Market,” said Annie Allman, Reading Terminal Market CEO and General Manager. “Thanks to the great partnership of the Independence Visitor Center Corporation, Pennsylvania Horticulture Society and the creativity of our catering partner, All About Events, the Reading Terminal Market Flower Experience by PHLASH was born. It’s a fun, convenient option that allows visitors to get the best of both worlds down in FDR Park and here in Center City.”

The Reading Terminal Market Flower Experience by PHLASH package is available to purchase for any date of the 2021 Flower Show, June 5 – 13. After purchasing online, visitors can redeem their digital ticket at City Kitchen in Reading Terminal Market on their selected day from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. to receive the wristband required to ride the PHLASH as well as the accompanying drink ticket and gift card. This package does not include the price of an actual Philadelphia Flower Show ticket and package availability is limited.

“This is a great collaboration with Reading Terminal Market, Philadelphia Horticultural Society, SEPTA and the Independence Visitor Center Corporation to continue the tradition of Reading Terminal Market and the Flower Show,” said Jennifer Nagle, Executive Vice President, Independence Visitor Center Corporation, managing organization of the Philly PHLASH Downtown Loop. “We are glad to support our partners along the PHLASH route with a creative transit offering that provides a safe, convenient option for visitors. The regular daily PHLASH route will be operating as well, and we hope locals and visitors will choose to enjoy our service throughout the season.”

The Philly PHLASH will pick up and drop off at Reading Terminal Market on the corner of 12th and Filbert Streets. Visitors can conveniently access Reading Terminal Market by taking SEPTA to Jefferson Station. About Reading Terminal Market

One of America’s largest and oldest public markets, the Reading Terminal Market serves as a public trust providing a venue for independent local businesses to showcase the Philadelphia region’s culinary bounty and cultural diversity. Housed since 1892 in a National Historic Landmark building, the Market offers an incredible selection of farm fresh produce, meats and poultry, plus the finest seafood, cheeses, baked goods, confections, flowers, jewelry and crafts. The Market is managed by a not-for-profit management company as a tenant of the Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority, which has owned the historic Reading Terminal since 1990. In 2014, the American Planning Association named Reading Terminal Market as one of the 10 Great Public Spaces in America and in 2021 the Market was voted Best Public Market by USA Today’s 10Best.
