Annie Allman, new General Manager of the Reading Terminal Market

The Board of the Reading Terminal Market Corporation announced yesterday that Annie Allman will step into the role of General Manager effective January 25.

Allman brings decades of experience in the hospitality and gaming industry, having held leadership roles within a number of casinos including Harrah’s Atlantic City and Harrah’s Philadelphia Casino and Racetrack.  She also served as Senior Vice President of Strategic Marketing for Encore Boston Harbor, a Wynn Resorts property, and Senior Director of Marketing at Comcast.  Most recently, Allman worked with public and private entities in the hospitality sector advising on development, investment, marketing, and operations through Last Frontier Consulting LLC, a management consulting firm she founded in 2010.

“Annie brings a wealth of experience to the position of General Manager and we’re thrilled to have her join the team,” said Albert Mezzaroba, Chairman of the Reading Terminal Market Corporation Board.  “Her boots-on-the-ground attitude, coupled with her extensive knowledge of hospitality and marketing, will bring success to the Market as we move forward and continue serving Philadelphia’s communities.”

The daughter of an Alaskan fisherman, Allman has firsthand experience and knowledge of the nuances of operating a small, family-owned business.

“Initially, I was drawn to Reading Terminal as an iconic Philly brand with a huge tie-in to tourism and destination marketing,” said Allman. “But with the pandemic bringing tourism to a halt, I considered the importance of the Market’s original purposes: to feed Philadelphia, provide the city with fresh, affordable, quality food and connect the City to the Commonwealth’s food producers and farmers. I am excited for this unique opportunity to manage Philadelphia’s historic Public Market and look forward to furthering the message that the Market is open, stocked, and ready to serve.”

Allman earned her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and her M.B.A. from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College.
